The cost of Home Insurance is increasing by up to 10% with many insurers after the recent terrible floods that hit much of Britain.
But the Sureterm Direct team pledged today to continue to scour the country to find its customers the lowest priced insurance deals – despite the increases.
The country’s largest insurer Norwich Union, announced a double-digit increase following the disastrous June and July – which cost the company a total of £340m.
Other insurers are waiting to follow suit, as the insurance industry deals with claims totalling about £4bn because of the floods.
Sue Hessom, General Manager of Sureterm Direct, said: “Home insurance premium have been pretty static for the past 10 years and many insurers were reviewing them anyway – but the floods have certainly tipped the balance in favour of an increase.
“But rates at Sureterm Direct will definitely not be going up despite the floods – 10% is a significant amount on the average home insurance policy and we believe we can keep our rates at their current level.”
