February 26th, 2009 by Alex Jeffery
Bailey of Bristol has swept the board at The Caravan Club Caravan Design Awards 2009. The news was announced during the recent Boat Caravan and Outdoor Show at the NEC. The company won an unprecedented four out of the five categories in which it entered products outright and in doing so recorded the best ever performance by any company in the competition.
The four titles were split evenly between the Pageant Series 7 and Senator Series 6 product ranges and featured three-time previous winner, the Senator Vermont, and three first time entrants, the Pageant Ardennes, Pageant Limousin and Senator California – reflecting the company’s unrivalled ability to bring successful new designs to market.
A full listing of the winning Bailey models is as follows:-
Family Caravan £11,000 – £15,000
WINNER: Bailey Pageant Series 7 Ardennes
2 Berth Caravan £11,000 – £15,000

Forty two vehicles were submitted for the Caravan Design Awards whose aim is to provide Club members, and caravanners in general, with fair and objective assessments of the vehicles submitted for scrutiny.
A panel of independent judges and technical researchers for the awards follow rigorous scoring checklists and assess everything from sitting comfort, standing headroom, kitchen design, storage, switches, wiring, security, repair and warranty arrangements to general safety.
Success in The Caravan Club Caravan Design Awards follows similar achievements in earlier competitions with Bailey products also claiming Practical Caravan Magazine’s Tourer of the Year title, given to the Ranger GT60 Series 6 540/6, and Which Caravan Magazine’s Caravan of the Year Award which was presented to the Pageant Series 7 Bretagne.
