Toyota is launching its new Urban Cruiser, which will be the World’s lowest CO2 4×4 on the market. Due to reach showrooms in May, the Urban cruiser will have a choice of two power trains which will benefit from Toyota Optimal Drive.

It will feature a 1.33-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine with Stop and Start technology and a 1.4-litre D-4D diesel engine with all-wheel-drive. Thanks to a diesel particulate filter and piezo-electric injector technology in the it is capable of producing just 129g/km CO2.

Both units are coupled with a new six-speed transmission which also helps to keep fuel consumption (51.5mpg from the petrol) and emissions low.
