August 28th, 2009 by Ben Dolan
In the high tech world of Formula One amongst the rich and powerful, newcomers Force India may have a reason to feel a little embarrassed at this weekend’s racing at the Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. The reason for their use of a shabby paddock motorhome was down to the short time between the previous race in Valencia. The time to dismantle, pack up, transport and then re-assemble the new motorhome, which they debuted in Spain, would have taken efforts away from other duties for the team.
However, rumors are amidst that suggest after the incident at the Nurburgring where police stormed the paddock on behalf of a disgruntled supplier, Force India didn’t want to risk a repeat so close to the German border.
McLaren, who are still working on bringing their paddock up to working condition appear to be struggling with the short timeframe, so perhaps this does backup Force India’s reasoning? Red Bull already have their paddock assembled after using a smaller motorhome last weekend in Valencia.
Force India debuted there new look motorhome paddock at the Spanish grand prix. Sporting a glamorous glass-fronted and state of the art facilities the team’s aim to rival teams like McLarens ‘Brand Center and Red Bull’s ‘Energy Station’ as the highlight of the pit lane.
