If you’re planning on taking your caravan away this bank holiday weekend, be aware that the police will be out in force, cracking down on dangerous caravans.

Codenamed Operation Velopy, Officers from the CMPG (Central Motorway Police Group) were out in force today on the M5. Tasks included pulling over, analyzing and weighing caravans to ensure they were safe to tow.

As well as stopping dangerous caravans, officers will also be on hand to provide tips and advice about towing a load safely.
