With the focus on electric and hybrid cars, there really isn’t space for the big brand of sport utility vehicles that became synonymous with the term “gas guzzler”. Grist.org reports that “GM thought its plans to sell Hummer to a Chinese company had the green light, but instead got run off the road by the Chinese Government”.

Toyota are tackling the difficult task of facing the truth and taking responsibility for the two vehicle defect recalls they have been hit with this year. “Both recall campaigns address conditions related to the accelerator pedal” reports Toyota.com, with the first issue being referred to as “Floor Mat Entrapment” and the second simply called “Pedal”.
